The Ctenanthe Burle-marxii is also known as the fishbone prayer plant, for its unique leaf veins. Just like a Maranta or Calathea, it opens and closes its leaves in the day and night, in a behaviour known as nyctinasty. Some believe this to happen as a response to changes in levels of available sunlight.
